Rookie/ Beginner "full day" Recommended itinerary

This is highly dependent on your address &  snow conditions of the mountains in proximity to Toronto.  On average we spend 90 min driving each way for the full day training sessions.  

Full day training sessions allow us to access slopes that are uncrowded; & with access to beginner chair lifts.  A full day training session gives access to a superior training environment.

A half day training session is certainly fun; most students will learn 4 skills.

In 2025, Coach Dave had a total of 63 rookie adult students enrolled in the full day training program.  59 completed the full "8 Skills of Snowboarding" in entirety.  The remaining 4 students gained enough skills that allow themselves to independently hit the slopes on their own.

Driving yourself is not permitted in our operations, sorry.  An accident on the highway will allow us to make a quick change in location if we are together.  Coach Dave has premium winter tires & significant commercial driver training in a spacious & luxurious crew cab commercial truck.  He has spent his whole life driving Ontario roads thru wintertime...you are in good hands.  

Many students will use the return drive time to review their videos & discuss their performance with Coach Dave.  This is often the most exciting part of the day...as you realize that you now have the tools to carve.

Its very common that students will buy their own gear before going out for their first time.  Its totally cool - it may work awesome for you & we will train you according to your your setup.  Make sure its waxed & sharpenened! New boards come 'factory waxed' & sharpened already. An unwaxed board will ruin your experience as the board will stick to the hill....it won't glide and you wont be able to learn.  

Should you decide to rent from BreakPoint, we can can adjust equipment fast & frequently.  The shuttle truck is packed with gear and parked at the bottom of the mountain!  For instance, students that are struggling with turning switch to a shorter board...and students spinning uncontrollably swap to a longer setup.
